Dr. Sushil Koirala is a pioneering general dental practitioner, educator, author, mentor, and international trainer in Advanced General Dentistry, with more than three decades of experience in clinical practice, professional leadership, CPD, and dental innovation. He is the Founder of MiCD Global Academy, promoting minimally invasive comprehensive dentistry through structured learning and clinical skills development.
Dr. Koirala graduated in Dentistry from Mysore University, India, in 1992 and has pursued advanced training in orthodontics, dental implants, temporomandibular disorders, digital occlusion, and Natural Guided Tissue Regeneration through programs in Nepal, the USA, Thailand, Singapore, Brazil, Belgium, and other countries. He has subsequently contributed as a clinician, educator, mentor, international trainer, and clinical advisor.
A longstanding advocate of lifelong professional learning, Dr. Koirala has played a significant role in advancing CPD in Nepal. As President of the Nepal Dental Association (2006–2008), he formally proposed the development and implementation of CPD in dentistry. He later served as an Advisor to the CPD Committee of the Nepal Medical Council, contributing to the development of structured professional development in healthcare.
His professional leadership includes serving as President of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (AAAD), Executive Board Member of the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry (IFED), and Visiting Faculty at the Faculty of Dentistry, Thammasat University, Thailand. He was the Founder President of the Nepalese Academy of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dentistry (NACAD) and the Nepal Oral Implant Association (NOIA), and currently serves as Founder President of the Academy of Advanced General Dentistry (AAGD). He is also Co-Founder and Chairman of National Dental Hospital Ltd. and initiated the Dental Innovation Center–Nepal to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in dentistry.
Dr. Koirala has served as a Key Opinion Leader and Clinical Consultant to international dental companies and innovators. He is an author, scientific and clinical writer, and Editor of multiple professional dental journals.
